King Cake (Galette des Rois) is a traditional French cake made of irresistibly creamy almond filling, sandwiched between buttery layers of puff pastry. Underneath the crispy and puffy pastry of the celebration size King Cake, a porcelain figurine (la fève) is hidden inside the delicious filling. The person who finds la fève in his or her slice of cake will become the king of the night.

He/She has the privilege to wear the complimentary golden shiny paper crown that symbolizes the success of the coming year.
